capybara wearing a headphone crochet tutorial [free crochet patterns + video tutorial]

Hi everyone! In this post, I'll tell you how to crochet a capybara wearing a headphone. 

This tutorial is a written pattern version of a video that was posted on my YouTube channel called "capybara wearing a headphone crochet tutorial".

MATERIALS
  • 5ply milk cotton yarn (thickness: 2mm)
  • thin polyester yarn for the eyes and nose (thickness: 1mm)
  • 3mm hook
  • Stitch Marker
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • glue gun

Body
R1: magic ring, 6sc [6]
R2: inc*6 [12]
R3: (sc, inc)*6 [18]
R4: 18sc [18]
R5: (2sc, inc)*6 [24]
R6: 24sc [24]
R7: (3sc, inc)*6 [30]
R8-R9: 30sc [30]
R10: 9sc, bobble, 11sc, bobble, 8sc [30]
R11-R12: 30sc [30]

cut the yarn and weave in the end
add face detail with thin black yarn.

Ears
Make a slip knot, insert it between R4-R5.
Make 3ch. Skip the 1st and the 2nd ch, make hdc on the 3rd ch.
Sl st on between R3-R4

Repeat for the other ear, but this time insert the slip knot on between R3-R4 and end with a sl st on between R4-R5.

Headphone
R1: magic ring, 5sc [5]
R2: inc*5 [10]
R3: <BLO> 10sc [10]
leave a long tail for sewing, set it aside.

Repeat R1-R3, but don't cut the yarn. Instead, make chains until you reach the other side of the head (I made 13ch).
Once you've reached the length that you needed, make a sl st on the other piece.

Lastly, sew the headphone on both side of the head.
